Who gets the best results in learning business English?

Who gets the best results in learning business English?

You don't need a talent for languages.

Do you have a talent for your native language?

So how come you speak your native language so fluently?

I guess you are surrounded with your native language.

Why don't you surround yourself with English?

You need 3 things:

1. 90% it's consuming content in English e.g. podcasts, TED talks, quality articles.
2. 10% it's speaking to someone about what you have consumed in point no 1.
3. Come back to point no. 1 :-)

If you want to speed up, you need to slow down

If you want to speed up, you need to slow down.

Many of my clients want to increase fluency in their spoken business English.

The thing is you need to slow down to speed up!

1. Go 10% down with your speed.
2. Think more about what you are talking about.
3. Correct your mistakes.

It will take you to the next level, and you will speed up.

What level of English do you need to have if you want to work internationally?

What level of English do you need to have if you want to manage internationally?

People believe they need a C1+ level of English if they want to manage in international environment.

I have worked with many clients (B1 - B2 level of English) who managed international teams.

You don't need to be C1+ to work with foreigners.

You don't need to be perfect!

Present simple vs present continuous - the mistake even advanced students make

What is the mistake that so many advanced speakers of English make?

They tend to overuse present continuous tense over present simple.

Use present simple for repeated actions or general truths e.g. I start work every day at 9:00, or Water freezes at 0 degrees.

Use present continuous for temporary situations e.g. I'm working late this week.

Slow down, think, and use quality English in your everyday situations.
